Workshop on English Language Enrichment

An English Workshop was held in Carmel School on 15th and 16th of June 2018 by Prof. Raju Victor who was the Resource person. He was a Professor of English at St. Aloysius college Mangaluru. He also has served as a Principal at Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Bengaluru. At present he is actively involved as a member of action plan for teachers, a project initiated and organized by the British Council, Chennai.

Prof. R.Victor guided the teachers in using phonetics in their teaching curriculum. Phonetics is a science of speech which deals with sounds, their production by means of lips, tongue, palate and vocal chords, their combinations into syllables, stress and intonation. Through his enthusiastic teaching, he made the teachers to pronounce the words correctly.

He also taught the teachers the method of reading the pronunciation dictionary by following the symbols. It was indeed an enriching workshop from which the teachers benefited a lot.
