Nativity of Blessed Mother, Suggi (harvest) and Save Girl Child were celebrated at Carmel School, on 7th September 2019. The celebration of Nativity of Mother Mary commenced by taking part in the Holy Eacharist with hope, faith and gratitude to the Almighty. Prior to this, the Catholic students and staff offered flowers during Novena Prayer daily to Mother Mary from 31st August as a preparation for her birthday.

The programme was organised by the students of IX C. It began with a devotional prayer dance and prayer service highlighting the virtues of Mother Mary. The gathering was welcomed by a traditional welcome dance and a welcome speech. Students enacted a skit highlighting the birth and life of Mother Mary. The students danced for a popular Suggi (harvest) song which highlighted the rich culture and traditional ways of harvesting. To express the importance of the girl child in the society and give respect and dignity, the students presented a dance drama followed by a song which was appreciated by the audience.

The solemn occasion was graced by Sister Sarika, the Principal, Sister Rose Agnes, the Administrator and Sister Gracy, the Vice principal. Sister Gracy then addressed the gathering. Marzooka, Vinutha, Sinchana, Gunjan Singh and Ramya compered the programme. Gayathri Shetty delivered the welcome speech and Farah Zainaba proposed the vote of thanks.
