“The United Nations is our one great hope for a peaceful and free world.”

UNO day and Diwali was celebrated in Carmel School, Mangaluru, on the 25th of October 2022, in the school auditorium in the morning.

A prayer for world peace was done through a prayer song and the prayer service ended with the intentions for the successful working of United Nations. The significance of the observance of this day and the important responsibilities of United Nations were showcased through a skit.

“Diwali is the symbol of victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance".

The spirit of the audience was lifted to a celebration mode by the dances staged by the little ones of class 3.

“The need of the hour is to reduce the air pollution”. The awareness to celebrate a green Diwali is emphasized through a skit by the students.

Teacher Deepthi gave the message, in which she had stressed on the responsibility of United Nations on peacekeeping and to address the challenges such as pandemic, hunger, poverty and education for all. Teacher had also highlighted on the precautions to be taken while bursting the firecrackers during Diwali celebrations.

Hiba Anam and Jenisha Sequeira of class 9th, Ashrith and Priston of Class 3rd had compered the programme. Rimsha and Kahani of class 3 gave the significance of Diwali. Aanchal Poojari proposed a vote of thanks.
